Canvas has long been used for a variety of outdoor needs including tents and tarps, sails, banners, car and boat covers, and many other things. Its tight weave makes it ideal for sun and water protection, especially if treated with additional agents to increase performance. While canvas may not look as sophisticated as wood or be as durable as aluminum, it definitely has its advantages for use in patio covers.
